Journey's drummer sings lead from the drum stool. Two days after an ambulance, he did it again
Deen Castronovo left the stage in Tulsa two songs into the set on 8 October. On 10 October he played a full Journey show in San Antonio and sang lead on three songs. The chair he sits in is one of the strangest jobs in rock.
What happened in Tulsa
Journey played two songs at the BOK Center in Tulsa on Thursday, 8 October 2026, and stopped. Deen Castronovo, 62, was unwell and was taken to hospital. Jonathan Cain spoke to the arena: “Have your prayers ready for Deen Castronovo, everybody.” Arnel Pineda tried to keep the room calm.
