Arch Enemy's Vocalist Lineage: Three Singer Changes, One Casualty — and It Wasn't Theirs
Most bands don’t survive replacing a vocalist once. Arch Enemy has now done it three times, and one of those handoffs was planned in-house like a corporate succession. This is the whole chain, in order.
The voice is supposed to be the one instrument you can’t swap. Fans forgive a new bassist. A new drummer gets maybe two shows of side-eye. But to most ears the voice is the band, which is why vocalist changes are where bands go to die.
